We are called to believe that God can do the impossible. This impossibility was based on the promise of a son made to Abraham when he was ninety-nine. What made this promise of a son humanly impossible was his age and that Sarah would be ninety when Isaac was to be born. The verb means to do something marvelous, wonderful, impossible, extraordinary, difficult, or hard. If He spoke the world into existence, He surely can make marvelous things happen in a world turned upside down. We are called to believe that God can work all things together for good to those who are called according to His purpose. We can laugh or latch on to the promise. <><
