____________

Keep or obey here is far more reaching than a mere sense of duty. Like two sides of a coin, on the one side is the essence of obedience, a deep love (agape) for Christ, and on the other side, the effect of that quality of love for Him is manifested (a willful act) in loving obedience to His commandments (cf. Jn 14:15, 21, 23, 24, 31; 15:10).

A true love (agape) for Jesus is manifested through loving obedience to His Word. Love without obedience to God's commandments is not agape love, and it is dead by itself (cf. Jas 2:17-18). There is a question posed by Jesus that needs to be seriously considered by all of us who are claiming Him as our Lord. Jesus asked, Now why do you call Me, 'Lord, Lord,' and do not do what I say (Lk 6:48, LSB)? Jesus said plainly to His disciples, If you love [agapao] Me, you will keep My commandments (Jn 14:15, LSB).

Daily is provided to encourage motion to devotion! These devotional websites are in random order. Originally, my iconic messenger looking over the signboard was daily, but now it serves as a steady reminder for me to consider my love for God and to ask myself, "Am I walking the talk?" Regarding any disclaimers, the resource materials in Daily, excluding the links to the Psalms and Proverbs naturally, are not necessarily affirmed in toto by M-G (2 Tim 2:15); I'm sure the feeling is mutual!

**BTW, I do not look to C.S. Lewis for exegetical analysis of Scripture, but at the same time, it is self-evident that I choose not to throw out the baby with the bathwater. <><
