Now the whole earth had one language and
one speech.
Before the flood and prior to the tower of Babel, there was only one language! This is hard to relate to living in a post-flood world that has over 6,8oo distinct languages (http://www.ethnologue.com). During the 120 years of preaching righteousness before the flood, Noah had no need for a translator.
But even
when speaking the same language and using the same words, there are no
guarantees that the hearer will receive spiritual truth, particularly if every
intention of the thoughts of the heart are only evil continually (Gen 6:5). But
not all hearts today are so inclined like the antediluvian civilization.
Agape
love is the universal language of believers to reach the lost and dying peoples
of the earth. Since non-verbal communication is more abundant than our
words, maybe we should be using our body language more in expressing the love
of Christ. We are millions strong with a message of hope for a hopeless world.
Drown ‘em all in the flood of the supernatural love of Christ! <><
